Join Richard Wilkinson during this weekend course as we review several common and popular forms of meditation with a focus on Yoga Nidra. This course is great for yoga teachers and aspiring meditation practitioners.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient form of meditation with its roots tracing back to thousands of years ago in India. Over the past 80 years, this practice has been popularized in the western world with many variations being developed. We will investigate several different styles of Yoga Nidra with the majority of our time spent on the practice of the iRest version of Yoga Nidra.
iRest is a meditative practice that is wonderful for those of us who are happy and healthy. It can bring us more peace and joy and can even invite insight into our conscious state. iRest has also been shown to be quite helpful for those of us who struggle with issues such as: anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, fear, grief etc.
iRest yoga Nidra is approved by the U.S. Surgeon General and has been used by the U.S. military for over a dozen years.
For more information on iRest Yoga Nidra, please view their website: www.irest.org
Participants will receive several written scripts as well as recordings of the meditation sessions that will be offered during the course.
Additionally Richard will provide regular ongoing support along with other scripts, recordings and up to date information about meditation.
